Fall 2020

Classes are offered regardless of ability to pay, and no interested youth is ever turned away because of their family’s economic circumstances. Families are asked to pledge and pay what they can based on our four pricing tiers.

COVID FALL UPDATE

We are excited to offer in-person and tactile learning opportunities this Fall!

We believe our Fall programming balances opportunity for hands-on learning opportunities and safety. There will still be some online classes, but we will also be starting an outdoor classroom. In-person classes will have fewer meetings and class sizes will be limited. Masks will be required, and there will be access to hand sanitizer available at all times.

The safety of In-Sight's students, volunteers, staff, and our community is our top priority. We will release more information on safety protocols for each class as we get closer to our start dates.  If you have any questions or concerns about In-Sight’s Safety measures this Fall please contact our program director, A Hanus, at a@insight-photography.org.

In-Person Classes

That’s right! We are back to IRL. As we will be running outdoor classes, we have reduced the number of students allowed in each class. Note that each class has a range of dates, so please make sure they work with your student’s schedule before signing up. We will send more class specific guidelines about a week in advanced of each start date to account for the most recent safety guidelines.

Nighttime Photography:

Bummed it’s getting darker later? Find the silver lining by taking our Nighttime Photography class with a local teacher and photographer, Dave Mazor! Learn about long exposure photography, how to capture the stars, how to paint with light, and so much more!

We will be offering two different sessions to keep class size small and low-risk. We are breaking the classes up by moon cycle. Please note this is a two-week class that meets twice a week.

New Moon Session: October 13th - 22nd Tuesdays + Thursdays 7-8:30pm

Full Moon Session: November 3rd - 12th Tuesdays + Thursdays  5:00-7pm

Teacher: Dave Mazor

Large Format Photography

It’s time to get spooky with Large Format photography Starting October 27th! Each student will be able to use their own large format camera over the 4 classes. With class starting around Halloween there will be opportunities to create some spooky shots using techniques such as long-exposures!

Students must have taken an Analog 2 level class with In-Sight to register for this class. Please note this is a two-week class that meets twice a week.

Students will also have the opportunity to schedule low-risk darkroom time after the class is complete. Please note this is a two-week class that meets twice a week.

This class is for all levels and will go over composition rules and tips for photographing nature. We will look at traditional and non-traditional nature photographers to help inspire. Please note this is a two-week class that meets twice a week.

Hybrid Class

Advanced Photo Class

We invite students who have taken multiple digital and/or analog classes with us to join us for an 8-week intensive course to help stretch and challenge their photographic skills and knowledge. Students will learn about the racial bias of photography, how to critique work, how to develop a portfolio, and by the end of class, they will have developed a collective zine to be published by In-Sight.

We highly encourage students who are interested in pursuing the arts to join this class.

This class will be a mixture of online and in-person meetings.

October 14th - November 25 Wednesdays 4-6 pm (timing may vary depending if we are online or in-person)
